Unfortunately, the offer had to be turned down for very good
reasons, and it was a huge disappointment. Friends who met
together to pray for the work of Oasis on a regular basis were
not deterred and they continued to pray for extra space.
Two years later, in 2009, the shop next door again became
vacant. This time circumstances were different and so the
trustees decided to step out in faith and extend the shop
premises. When the builder finished knocking a hole through
to the next-door property, he found a DVD that had dropped
behind a card stand in the existing shop. It was called “The
Second Chance” - God was giving Oasis a second chance
to expand, and this time it was being taken.
Then, for the second time in the history of Oasis, another
anonymous donation of £1,000 was given to help towards
purchasing extra fixtures and fittings, and other items were
donated, such as bookcases, a glass cabinet and filing
